forK12: School Registration, End to End

forK12 lets parents in the UAE find a school and apply in one flow: verify their ID, pay the fees, and meet the school on a video call. I architected the platform at YH&H and led its backend in Node.js and PostgreSQL. Payments, ID checks, and video meetings live in a single platform.

The problem

A school application has several steps that usually happen in different places: forms, identity documents, fee payments, and an interview. Each hand-off is a place where an application stalls or data is typed twice. Schools also need to review applications and keep the content on the platform in order.

How it works

ID scanning and verification. Parents scan an identity document, and the platform verifies it as part of the application.
Payments with splitting. Parents choose from several payment methods, and a fee can be split into parts.
Interviews in the platform. Schools schedule interviews and hold them as video meetings inside forK12.
Moderation dashboard. Administrators manage content and users from one dashboard.
Web and native apps. A Node.js and PostgreSQL backend serves the web app and a React Native app for iOS and Android.
